The advantages and disadvantages of investment casting
、Investment casting castings have high dimensional accuracy and surface finish, which can cast castings with complex shapes. The general accuracy can reach 5~7 levels.
、Investment casting can be very small castings, the minimum wall thickness of investment castings up to 0.5mm, weight can be as small as a few grams;
、Casting of fine patterns, characters, castings with fine grooves and curved holes;
、There are almost no restrictions on the shape and inner cavity of investment castings, which can make parts with complex shapes that are difficult to be made by sand casting, forging, cutting and other methods.
、There are almost no restrictions on the types of casting materials, which are commonly used for casting copper, alloy steel, carbon steel and heat-resistant alloy castings;
、There is no limit to the quantity of production, which can be produced in large quantities from single to batch.
、The shortcoming of investment casting method is that the process is complicated and the production cycle is long, so it is not suitable for producing large size castings
